Kyah is our resident supermodel here at the Santana Center. She is a drop dead gorgeous 15 year old Belgian/ Quarter Horse cross. Standing at about 16.1 hands, Kyah is a picture of strength and beauty. She was previously a plow horse for the Amish, and found herself in a bad situation before she arrived home with us.
As of now we are recommending Kyah be adopted as a companion horse only. Radiographs revealed she has bone cysts on her navicular bone, which may be causing some pain. We are currently working with the vet and our farrier to determine the best course of action for her. She also has allergies which are more severe in the summer months, so she will require some joint and allergy maintenance. Kyah does tend to be boss mare in the herd, so we are recommending that she be kept in her own paddock separate from other horses. She does however enjoy having friendly neighbor horses. Don’t miss out on your chance to adopt this beauty!!
